ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometers west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent full-time position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires to our Cannington Operation.

As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the integrity of the Cannington Blueprint, providing specialised structural and civil engineering expertise. Manage modifications and projects in line with established processes, standards, and targets for HSEC, quality, and cost.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  1. Execute design, analysis, inspection, verification, and remediation of new and existing steel and concrete structures.
  2. Deliver specialised structural and civil engineering expertise, guiding organisational strategy on business risks, technology, and best practices.
  3. Create and uphold asset management plans for critical structural and civil assets at Cannington.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  1. Proficiency in structural and civil engineering design, inspection, and remediation.
  2. Structural engineering experience gained within relevant industries.
  3. Strong technical competencies, ideally with expertise in structural and civil engineering for process plants and mine sites.
  4. Thorough knowledge of Australian Standards and Regulations pertaining to structural engineering and project engineering.
  5. Proven commitment to safe working practices.

Qualifications for this position are:

  1. Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  2. RPEQ or CPEng required.
