About the Opportunity:

We are now seeking a passionate and capable HR Manager to join our People and Culture team. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to our employees and the broader organisation.

As the HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering on strategic and operational HR initiatives that benefit the entire organisation. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering an environment where employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to deliver exceptional care and services to those we serve. We take pride in our true partnership approach, ensuring that HR practices are embedded throughout the organisation. You will collaborate closely with leaders across all areas of the business, as well as key roles within the broader People and Culture team, to ensure a seamless and high-quality employee experience at every stage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the implementation of the HR business plan that aligns with the RAAFA Strategy, ensuring effective workforce planning and the acquisition of the right skillsets to meet RAAFA's current and future needs.
  2. Manage recruitment efforts and develop retention strategies to attract and retain top talent that aligns with RAAFA's values, business requirements and growth agenda.
  3. Navigate industrial relations ensuring effective delivery of employee relations practices. Ensure compliance with employment laws, industrial relations frameworks and best practices. Foster strong working relationships with unions and relevant stakeholders.
  4. Partner with WHS to lead the delivery of an Employee Health & Wellbeing Program that supports staff across all areas of wellbeing.
  5. Foster a positive, inclusive culture and implement strategies to enhance productivity, employee engagement, and staff morale. Manage a dedicated employee feedback system to ensure a responsive and open workplace.
  6. Develop and implement a comprehensive Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion plan that promotes a diverse, fair and inclusive workplace, ensuring alignment with RAAFA's values and objectives.
  7. Provide support, advice, and coaching to Managers at all levels. Partner with Workforce Development to deliver a Leadership Development program that equips leaders with the skills and tools to manage effectively and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  8. Oversee all HR administration processes and provide regular reports to senior management on workforce trends, performance, and key HR metrics.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior HR role.
  2. Proven HR leadership experience, ideally in the people sector.
  3. Strong background in HR management, including recruitment, workforce planning, industrial relations, and compliance.
  4. Well versed in best practice employee relations, cultural alignment and organisational development.
  5. Experience in delivering strategies that enhance culture, productivity, and employee engagement.
  6. Knowledge of current employment law, industrial relations frameworks, and HR best practices.
  7. Experience using HR software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  8. Current National Police Clearance and valid WA driver's licence.
