Overview

Account Manager (Healthcare) – SummaCare, a Summa Health entity. Location: 1200 E Market St, Akron, OH. Employment type: Full-Time / 40 Hours / Days. Hybrid after training.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a specified book of business with primary responsibility for fully-insured clients. Respond, research, and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner. Contribute to membership growth through planning, pre-renewal meetings, and execution of open-enrollment activities.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Account Executives to understand, develop, and implement account management strategy, including face-to-face client interactions for forecasting and understanding critical account information.
  • Oversee day-to-day resolution of complaints and inquiries and communicate updates across the company as needed.
  • Manage, service, and nurture assigned book of business to achieve high levels of group retention, profitability, and growth through renewals and open enrollment activities; monitor for risks and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with employers, brokers, and consultants; demonstrate value and build client loyalty. Invite management members to events as appropriate.
  • Coordinate group renewal processes, generate renewal rates, present alternatives, and negotiate renewal terms; manage open enrollment with targeted retention and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting and Management to provide accurate group data including contribution strategies, alternative benefit designs, and rates.
  • Assist with selling and servicing large accounts transitioning from fully-funded to self-funded status, including admin fees, reporting options, and performance guarantees.
  • Collaborate with SAE's to install new accounts, deliver group administration kits, and support sales presentations and open enrollment activities.
  • Collect group data and enter it into databases to support up-selling of ancillary products and services (life, dental, vision, FSA) to achieve production targets.
  • Prepare biweekly or monthly call and renewal reports for management review.
  • Provide timely internal and external customer service in a professional and respectful manner.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or may substitute with four years' experience.
  • Three (3) + years performing similar responsibilities in a broker agency or healthcare organization; experience with open enrollment, premium/rate development, and knowledge of insurance products and benefit plan designs.
Other Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint to support essential job functions.
  • Judgment in renewal strategies to maintain profitability and growth.
  • Knowledge of experience-rated renewals.
  • Ability to assess client objectives and develop competitive proposals.
  • Effective time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures; maintain confidentiality of member health and business information.
  • Flexible: ability to adjust work hours to meet business demands.
Physical Demands
  • Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently; limited continuous force as needed to move objects.
Salary and Benefits

$28.10/hr - $42.15/hr. The salary range is base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. Factors such as experience and location are considered. The range listed reflects full base salary; hiring at the maximum is not typical.
