About the Opportunity

Join our high-performing Clinical IT Operations Team We are seeking a temporary (1-year) Full-Time Technology Specialist to provide desktop support for laboratory staff, primarily based at Prince of Wales & Sydney hospitals.

Our network includes over 60 laboratories and 200 collection centres across NSW, conducting over 60 million tests annually. We support pathologists, scientists, technicians, and staff to ensure quick, accurate sample assessments for optimal patient treatment. We also offer opportunities for involvement in research and innovation, contributing to safer, healthier communities. Our Forensic & Analytical Science Service provides independent analysis for the NSW criminal and coronial justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for desktop hardware support, including software installation
  • Perform remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques and relevant questions
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higher support levels
  • Provide accurate information on hardware, software, and services as needed
  • Document events and resolutions in logs
  • Relay feedback or suggestions to the relevant internal team
  • Identify and recommend procedural improvements
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in Help Desk and desktop hardware support
  • Support for desktop hardware (PCs, laptops, printers) and software (Windows OS, MS Office)
  • Knowledge of networking protocols
  • Experience with Help Desk tools like ServiceNow and JIRA
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical users
  • Teamwork skills and documentation abilities
