Overview

We're seeking an OO4 Ranger to join the K\'gari Assets, Roads & Fireline Team, responsible for the operation of the Heavy Plant and Equipment fleet on K\'gari (Fraser Island). You\'ll collaborate with management units to deliver the annual works program aligned with current strategies. This diverse role includes field and office tasks such as procurement, data management, project coordination and shift reporting. Good 4WD skills are essential, as you\'ll navigate remote, tide-dependent areas with limited resources. The role requires autonomy, problem-solving and a solid understanding of internal systems, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the Heavy Plant and Equipment fleet in support of the annual works program.
  • Collaborate with management units to deliver program outcomes in line with current strategies.
  • Perform field and office tasks including procurement, data management, project coordination and shift reporting.
  • Navigate remote, tide-dependent areas with limited resources, requiring strong 4WD skills and problem solving.
  • Contribute to Assets Management programs and support asset management initiatives.
  • Support staff supervision, workplace health and safety, and natural resource management as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience in staff supervision, leadership, workplace health and safety, and natural resource management.
  • Strong demonstrated skills in Heavy Plant operations and assets management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Assets Management programs.
  • Ability to work in a high visitation area with weekend and school holiday shifts as required.
