Opportunity snapshot:

Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer is responsible for handling DevOps related activities (including test, build and release infrastructure) for multiple projects which are implemented to production system and maintain robust stable Cloud hosting Container platform for application environments. This will include designing and implementing processes and tools to support continuous integration, delivery, and testing. The Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer will be a proponent for good software engineering standards and practices..

Your Contribution:

  • Drive continuous improvement in DevOps & Configuration Management capability ensuring it is always relevant and meets the needs of internal customer groups
  • Define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing, and release management
  • Lead large scale implementation of platform and services from inception through to production, maintaining quality documentation and procedures for the ongoing support of the platform
  • Build and maintain robust stable Cloud hosting platforms for application environments, AKS cluster deployment, operations, and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, PaaS, CaaS, Serverless) and Service Mesh (Istio).
  • Ensure repeatable and consistent environments for applications with containers and reduce the overall cloud hosting costs
  • Establish rapid repeatable deployment patterns with docker images, Helm charts - zero touch no outage deployments
  • Container platform Lifecycle Management including capacity planning, sizing of environments to run in a cost-effective manner, and expiry dates for project environments Work collaboratively with delivery teams to achieve success through the adoption of Continuous Delivery and Dev-Ops practices & processes

Qualifications, training & Experience

  • CI/CD Continuous Integration, Delivery & DevOps experience in – Microsoft Technologies, Azure DevOps
  • Extensive Experience with MS Azure Platform and RESTful APIs
  • In depth knowledge of C# and .Net Framework, Strong PowerShell scripting
  • Experience in deploying PaaS solutions, API's, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to Azure Hands-on experience with Container technology like Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, CaaS, Service Mesh Istio and best practice use from an operations and security perspective.
  • Experience designing, building and deploying scalable applications & APIs
  • Automation for build and release management - automate and streamline operations and processes
  • Release Management utilizing Azure DevOps/VSTS mandatory
  • Software development and Configuration management automation
  • Proven experience in build management & automation on multiple platforms Windows, Unix (Solaris & Linux)
  • Demonstrated success in managing internal stakeholders
  • Experience with monitoring tools and tuning monitoring and alerting to minimise distributions and be confident of service delivery
