In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the RoleNorthern Health has implemented an integrated EMR system with the vision of 'One patient' and 'One integrated record' to optimise the quality and safety of patient care. The scope of Northern Health's EMR includes medication management, real-time decision support, device integration and specialist modules for ICU, Emergency, Maternity, Surgery and Anaesthesia.
The EMR Medical Analyst will be responsible for the analysis, design, build, configuration, testing and conversion of the EMR at Northern Health. The role reviews existing workflows, content and configuration to contribute to the optimisation of current workflows and the design of new workflows from a medical perspective. The Analyst will have knowledge across EMR applications including:
- Care Delivery
- Core and Patient Movement
- Orders and Results
- Emergency Firstnet
- Surgery Surginet/Anaesthesia
- Medications
- Maternity
- Technical device
The EMR Medical Analyst will have strong clinical workflow knowledge and business analytic skills. The role requires autonomy to analyse clinical workflows, collect and review data in data collection workbooks, and collaborate with the EMR team, service departments and clinical staff on EMR matters.
Responsibilities- Analyse, design, configure, test and assist with conversion of the EMR system.
- Review and optimise existing workflows and contribute to new workflow designs from a clinical perspective.
- Collaborate with the EMR team and clinical stakeholders to support EMR related initiatives.
- Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Undergraduate medical qualification (MBBS, MD or equivalent).
- Medical background with an interest in computerized workflows, best practice, innovation, clinical documentation and healthcare informatics.
- Experience in a metropolitan hospital environment with understanding of clinical workflows in acute and subacute inpatient settings.
- Critical thinking with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using common business analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio and Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and triage defects during testing processes.
- Demonstrated alignment with the values of Safe, Kind, Together in projects and with stakeholders, colleagues and patients.
