Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the achievement of department, branch and corporate goals relative to profit, growth, service producer and client relations.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve new business, rate and retention targets for assigned book of business to support revenue and profit goals via portfolio analysis, profit and retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with NUC and internal stakeholders regarding book management strategy and broker communications; provide feedback and possible solutions to NUC.
  • Monitor and report on the status of open claims for assigned accounts and make recommendations.
  • Prepare for account reviews with management, demonstrating knowledge of risk, industry, competitive environment and Chubb's products and capabilities.
  • Book Management
  • Underwriting Quality & Compliance: adhere to underwriting, compliance and file documentation standards and workflows to support revenue and profit goals; evaluate and accept/decline new lines, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority; assess risks exceeding authority; provide input to profit analysis where appropriate.
  • Sales & Marketing: achieve individual producer targets; develop and implement an effective business development strategy to prospect for new business across SBU/product lines and broker segments; manage sales pipeline to identify and develop new business prospects.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing intelligent solutions to underwriting situations.
  • Subject matter expertise in pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer and reserve development.
  • Working knowledge of key accounts in the Branch; understanding underwriting appetites and interdepartmental relationships.
  • Judgment to tailor coverage and manuscripts; familiarity with competitors' products.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to influence decisions.
