We are seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Manager – Scrub Scout to join our multidisciplinary team in the Theatre Department.

SJG Mount Lawley features eight modern operating theatres and two fully equipped procedure rooms, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties. These include orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, gynaecology, plastics, and endoscopy. With a strong focus on patient safety and innovation—including robotic-assisted surgery—we offer a dynamic and collaborative environment for surgical excellence.

Your role will provide leadership and direction for the overall coordination and management of the unit, with the objective of achieving best practice outcomes from both a customer and business perspective whilst supporting and promoting the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.

The role is being offered on permanent full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

The Position

• Maintains responsibility for the standards and quality of clinical practice within Scrub, Scout and Perioperative Services.
• Contributes to Hospital strategic and operational goals
• Develop and maintain excellent standards of care including ongoing evaluation and promotion of quality improvement initiatives
• Monitors compliance with perioperative standards and procedures and initiates corrective action as required.
• Prepare and implement, in conjunction with the DDON and Finance, the annual Operational Plan/Management Plan for the unit.
• Achievement of Accreditation/compliance with National/State Standards & Inspections.
• Provides and promotes person-centred care to deliver exceptional patient experience informed by patient feedback and data.
• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of a workforce model/model of care that enables quality of care to be maintained as well as implementing appropriate levels of workforce skills.
• Provide sound leadership and management of staff
• Prioritises workload using resources effectively.
  
  

You will hold registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and have a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care.

To succeed you will have experience in Nursing Management in a Perioperative setting with a knowledge of contemporary health issues in the Perioperative environment. You will have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

• Salary: $132,322 per annum, plus 12% superannuation
• Permanent full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight
