QBuild, a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government with over 160 years of history, plays a vital role in constructing and maintaining government assets such as schools, social housing, police stations, and health facilities across the state.

About The Role

You will support Queensland's building and construction industry by providing essential labour support on key projects.

Duties and Skills
  • Perform general manual labour.
  • Support trades with basic building and engineering tasks, such as installing frames, running cables, and minor repairs.
  • Carry out minor maintenance, including light bulb changes and equipment cleaning.
  • Assist with digging, trenching, concreting, and foundation work.
  • Erect and dismantle fencing, signage, and assist with scaffold setup.
  • Operate machinery (e.g., forklifts if licensed) and drive vehicles for deliveries.
  • Use hand tools and small equipment for various tasks.
  • Maintain site cleanliness, safety, and hazard control.
  • Assist with depot and client premises maintenance.
  • Manage deliveries, inventory, and store control.
  • Help with furniture movement within sites.
  • Work safely at heights, including roofs.
  • Read and interpret work instructions and plans under supervision.
  • Maintain a proactive attitude, take initiative, and work as part of a team.
Additional Requirements
  • Current White Card (Workplace Health & Safety Induction Card).
  • Current Australian Driver's License.
