Role Summary
As our Chef, you'll take pride in delivering exceptional food and service, ensuring every dish meets the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. You'll maintain impeccable hygiene and safety practices while creating menus that meet nutritional requirements and delight our residents. Leading a dedicated kitchen team, you'll foster a culture that thrives on excellence, teamwork, and keeping clients happy. This is a hands-on role for someone with a passion for food, a sharp eye for detail, and a positive, professional attitude.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Take ownership of purchasing and stock management to keep our kitchen running smoothly
- Create and refine menu items and service offerings that delight our residents
- Lead, mentor, and inspire new kitchen and hospitality staff to deliver exceptional service
- Uphold the highest food safety standards, ensuring every meal is prepared with care
Employment Type: Permanent, full-time. Location: Midland Nursing Home facility.
Skills, Attributes And Experience
Our ideal candidate will have significant previous experience within the food services industry, ideally within health/aged care. They will have strong time management skills, the ability to work to deadlines and the ability to maintain an organised, process-driven workplace. We are looking for someone who will be able to easily prioritise the health and safety of residents, all while delivering a menu that is creative, exciting and especially tasty Our ideal candidate will be a natural people person who will inspire and drive the rest of their team to share in collective goal of delivering a wonderful end product to clients.
Key Selection Criteria Includes:
- Experience working with specialised dietary requirements
- Experience designing and delivering menu's/service offerings
- Knowledge of food safety protocols/procedures for the aged care sector
- Experience leading hospitality teams or hospitality venues
