Fitzroy is a new force in the Queensland metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects. In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at Carborough Downs underground mine, breathed new life into the Broadlea open cut and opened our new underground longwall pit at Ironbark No.1.

About the Role:
As the Group IT Manager, you will be responsible for the overall supervision and management of Fitzroy's Information Technology environment and systems. This role involves a hands on approach including oversight of our corporate IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, system security, and alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the whole IT environment across the Fitzroy Group.

Ensuring the seamless operation, integration, and alignment of all systems with business needs. This includes maintaining hardware, software, networks, and cloud services to support daily operations and long-term strategic goals.

Provide leadership in the relationship with our external IT service provider.

Provide high-quality delivery of infrastructure maintenance, helpdesk services, and user support. This includes setting service level expectations, monitoring performance, and addressing issues promptly to maintain a reliable and responsive IT function.

Coordinate communication systems and IT environments in collaboration with key personnel across all sites, fostering consistency, efficiency, and alignment with organizational priorities. Act as a central point of contact to ensure technology supports effective internal collaboration and external communication.

Ensure the security and resilience of all infrastructure and data assets, safeguarding the organization against internal vulnerabilities and external cyber threats.

This involves managing firewalls, backups, endpoint protection, and user access controls, as well as overseeing compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Proactively identify opportunities to enhance IT systems and processes, working closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and implementing improvements that drive efficiency, innovation, and scalability. This includes evaluating emerging technologies, recommending system upgrades, and leading change initiatives to future-proof the IT environment.

About You:

Proven experience in IT management or a similar leadership role.

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and security practices.

Exceptional vendor and stakeholder management skills.

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take initiative with a hands-on approach and drive continuous improvement.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

High level of integrity and professionalism.
