They tell us about the sense of community, the enhanced opportunities for career growth, and - most of all - they tell us about the children and young people they have worked with.

You can find out more about the financial incentives for specific locations, using our benefits calculator here .

Who We Are Looking For

We are currently recruiting teachers to schools across Western Australia. These range from the wine regions in the Southwest, to our Goldfields, up to the top of our great state in the Kimberley.

To teach in a Western Australian public school, you must have a recognised, completed initial teacher education qualification. This may be a completed Bachelor of Education, or equivalent; or an undergraduate degree and a post-graduate teaching qualification. To work as an education support teacher, you must hold a qualification specific to this occupation or have completed a minimum of two special education related modules as part of your teaching qualification.

To be eligible to teach in Western Australian public schools, you must hold both a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check , and a Working with Children Check . You will need these later in the selection process, before you are offered employment or commence work. You do not need them to apply to this pool.

Find out more information about our teacher qualification or eligibility requirements on our website , or contact us at International.Recruitment@education.wa.edu.au or on +61(8) 9264 4297.

If you already live in Western Australia, do not apply for this New Zealand Teacher Pool. Apply for the fixed term or graduate pool, Remote Teaching Service pool, or for individual advertised vacancies.

The application process

Applying for the New Zealand Teacher Pool is easy, there are three steps:

Step 1: Write your CV and address the AITSL professional teaching domains

You will be asked to attach a comprehensive CV (of no more than five pages), and a three-page statement addressing the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) teaching domains.

Information and guidance in writing these documents can be found in the application package attached to this advertisement. Refer to these guidelines when completing your application documents.

Step 2: Complete your online application

Once you have prepared your CV and statement, complete the online application process by selecting "Apply for Job" at either the top or bottom of this advertisement. Applications must be submitted online.

You will be asked a series of questions regarding your qualifications and working rights. You will be asked to nominate your preferred locations by selecting our education regions. You can find out more about our education regions here .

Have all of your documents ready before commencing your online application and refer to the attached application package for a detailed list of what you need to include.

You will receive a confirmation email after you have submitted your application online.

Our team will make contact you discuss the process, and opportunities that you may be suitable for.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, or are experiencing any trouble submitting your online application, please contact Staff Recruitment and Employment Services on (08) 9264 5083.

Step 3: Your video interview (for some applicants)

We may ask you to complete a video interview, through the online recruitment platform, Vieple. This will require you to record your answer to two questions.

Further information about video interviews will be provided later in the selection process.

If you are included in this pool, you are not guaranteed a position in a Western Australian public school.

Application Attempts and Reapplication Timeframes

Applicants who are not deemed suitable for the pool may reapply once more immediately. If found not suitable a second time, applicants will need to wait six months before reapplying.

Should applicants be unsuccessful again after this six-month period, they will be required to wait a further six months before submitting another application.
