What You Will Be Doing

As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and coordinate specimen samples from patients, delivering great customer service and quality healthcare. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
  • Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
  • Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
  • Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
  • Liaising with customers, clinic staff and couriers
What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or you will have gained a Certificate III in Pathology Collection. You could also be a Registered Nurse seeking regular daytime shifts over weekend/overnight work. If you have no pathology experience but a customer service focus and healthcare background, we can support you with fully paid training and mentoring.

Qualifications and Attributes
  • Demonstrated experience in Phlebotomy/Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with empathy
  • Organised with strong time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously, including in solo clinic settings
  • Valid Driver's license and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
  • Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, New Zealand citizenship, or valid visa with work rights
  • Vaccine-preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is required; other vaccinations may be required depending on location
