What You'll Do

As a Lead Application Specialist, you will be responsible for shaping the future of digital service delivery by architecting and implementing advanced web applications that drive organisational objectives. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to gather requirements, design scalable solutions, and ensure seamless integration across various platforms. You will play a pivotal role in validating new ideas through prototyping, guiding developers through solution implementation, and maintaining high standards of quality via rigorous code reviews. By actively participating in testing phases and championing continuous improvement initiatives, you will help create resilient digital environments that enhance user experience. • Designing and developing sophisticated web applications on strategic digital platforms, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise systems and third-party solutions.
• Contributing to architectural decisions by evaluating technology options and aligning solutions with established principles and roadmaps.
• Collaborating closely with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, Business Analysts, and developers to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications.
• Conducting feasibility studies and developing prototypes to validate proposed solutions before full-scale implementation.
• Reviewing API mappings to connect enterprise systems, third-party platforms, and digital applications for optimal interoperability.
• Providing clear technical direction and hands-on support throughout the development lifecycle, including code reviews and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Assisting during testing phases to ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are met to the highest standards.
• Driving continuous improvements across applications, environments, and processes by identifying opportunities for optimisation.
• Offering advice, coaching, and knowledge transfer to junior staff members to foster team capability building.
  
  

What You Bring

To excel as a Lead Application Specialist in this transformative environment, you will bring substantial experience in low-code application development—ideally leveraging OutSystems—to deliver integrated web and mobile solutions. Your background should include leading teams through complex technical challenges while fostering an inclusive atmosphere where knowledge sharing is encouraged. A deep appreciation for human-centred design will enable you to create accessible interfaces that resonate with users. Your expertise in API integration ensures seamless connectivity across platforms, while your familiarity with CI/CD processes supports efficient deployment cycles. Experience working within Agile or DevOps frameworks will allow you to adapt quickly as priorities evolve. • Extensive experience in low-code development platforms (with preference for OutSystems) for both web and mobile applications, including integration with large-scale enterprise systems.
• Demonstrated ability in technical leadership roles involving mentoring team members and managing project deliverables within cross-functional settings.
• Proven expertise in detailed design work and API mapping for digital applications that require robust connectivity between multiple systems.
• Solid understanding of human-centred design principles applied effectively within web development projects to enhance usability and accessibility.
• Advanced proficiency in REST APIs as well as familiarity with API Gateway tools and comprehensive API management practices.
• Hands-on experience managing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines within Agile or DevOps environments.
• Track record of designing scalable solutions that meet high-availability requirements for mission-critical applications.
• Experience working with enterprise Content Management Systems (CMS) alongside knowledge of responsive design principles and web accessibility standards.
• Adept at performing thorough code reviews to uphold code quality while providing constructive feedback to peers.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities enabling effective communication of technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
