Head Medical is seeking applications from experienced Geriatricians to join a dedicated team delivering integrated aged care services across acute, sub-acute, outpatient, and community settings.

The Role

As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to elderly patients across a variety of hospital and community-based environments. You Will play a key role in:

  • Acute geriatric receiving and inpatient management.
  • Consultation for older adults with complex needs including medical, surgical, and orthopaedic comorbidities.
  • Sub-acute care, community outreach, and ED avoidance strategies using e-health and rapid access clinics.
  • Supervision of junior medical staff, including trainees and international medical graduates.
  • Engagement in quality improvement, research, and continuous education.

Your practice will span across ISLHD hospitals including Wollongong, Shellharbour, Bulli, Coledale, Shoalhaven, and Milton, providing both variety and scope to your work.

Eligibility

You must be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA and hold:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine, OR
  • Equivalent overseas specialist qualifications (e.g. CCT (UK), CSCST (Ireland), ABGM Board Certification (USA), RCPSC (Canada), or Vocational Registration in NZ)
