Apprentice Electrician

The Role

Mackay Regional Council is seeking a curious, problem-solving individual to join our team as an Apprentice Electrician. In this dynamic role, you will experience new challenges daily, learning to how to maintain and install the electrical plant and equipment across Mackay Regional Council. This highly varied position will provide you with valuable experience in both commercial and light-industrial sectors.

Timeframe

This is a 4-year apprenticeship. On completion you will obtain a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

This is an apprenticeship and is ideal for school leavers, those new to the industry or seeking a career change. Eligibility criteria apply if you hold existing qualifications in this area.

What You Will Need To Succeed

• Flexibility, enthusiasm and active problem-solving skills.
• An interest in learning about the installation and maintenance of a wide range of electrical equipment and systems, including lighting, traffic signals and tool maintenance.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• You're a team player, with the ability to learn from, and grow positive relationships with others.
• Ability to complete occasional out of hours work (including weekends) and regular local travel.
• Successful completion of Year 10.
