The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk and Business Continuity Manager to lead and manage the development, application, and monitoring of risk management frameworks and systems across the department. This role also involves leading and managing the business continuity management framework, including the review and testing of business continuity plans.

There is currently one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.

The successful applicant or applicants assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of employment (fixed term or permanent) in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (12) months from date of first appointment.

About you
  • Strong background in developing, applying, monitoring, and reviewing risk management and business continuity frameworks.
  • Experienced in providing authoritative risk, business continuity, and compliance reports and specialist advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and able to provide advice and guidance at all levels of the department.
  • Skilled in facilitating the review of strategic, operational, fraud, and project risk reviews.
  • Capable of identifying and analysing gaps in organisational capability and designing tailored training programs.
  • Experienced in managing and administering risk-based management systems.
  • Skilled in monitoring the implementation of risk treatment action plans and assessing control effectiveness.

    • SC1. Substantial experience in the leadership of enterprise-level risk management, risk assessments and business continuity strategies and frameworks within a large and complex organisation.
    • SC2. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and negotiate with a range of stakeholders to create open and productive working relationships.
    • SC3. Ability to prepare presentations, written reports, briefing papers and educational material on complex matters for a range of audiences.
    • SC4. Highly developed conceptual, analytical and research skills with the ability to identify and provide solutions to complex problems.
    • SC5. Experience coordinating, managing and evaluating multiple concurrent projects to deliver strategic outcomes, with a focus on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

The CV must contain the complete names and contact information of two (2) referees who can provide feedback on the applicant's capacity to meet all the Essential Work-Related Requirements. At least one of the referees should be the applicant's immediate (most recent) supervisor/manager unless there are exceptional circumstances.
