Overview

Permanent Full-Time opportunity (9 Day Fortnight, 38 hours/week) for a Plumber with experience in water reticulation. BT2 level salary: $79,527 per annum + super.

About The Role

Townsville City Council is committed to providing safe, reliable and cost-effective water services to the Townsville community. As a Plumber within the water team, you will coordinate major maintenance, breakdowns, and planned works on water infrastructure. You will coordinate site access, permits, safety and statutory permissions to perform maintenance activities and provide on-site supervision of staff and contractors to ensure works are carried out in accordance with specifications.

About You

Mandatory qualifications and desirable requirements are listed below. Some qualifications can be obtained on commencement.

Mandatory

  • Trade qualification in Plumbing with experience in water reticulation
  • Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)
  • Current C-class driver's licence with the ability to obtain an MR-class licence

Desirable

  • Traffic Management Implementation course (accredited)
  • Competent person with experience in Confined Space Entry
  • Experience supervising asbestos removal and asbestos piping
  • Ability to work as part of a team to prevent or quickly rectify interruptions to water supply
  • Well-developed supervisory and leadership skills
  • Strong community and customer relations skills
  • Good understanding of WHS, Environmental Protection, EEO, Anti-discrimination and privacy obligations, and QLD Local Government Act
  • Significant knowledge and experience in maintenance planning, scheduling and execution
