Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million+ personal and small business customers.
The Core Manufacturing Crew is dedicated to delivering customer obsessed home buying products and solutions enabling Australians to achieve their home ownership goals, whilst having the most sophisticated risk and reward settings and ensuring responsible risk management.
The Core Product Strategy and Governance squad is accountable for defining the end-to-end core product strategy to meet the changing needs of customers on their home buying journey, whilst also maintaining product integrity. This squad is one of the four squads within the Core Product Management Value Stream, which is accountable for designing and implementing features that do the basics so well they are almost unnoticed and exceed customer expectations in defining moments.
Do work that matters
You will have a dual reporting line to report to the Product Owner, Core Product Strategy & Governance squad and Product Solutions & Management Chapter Lead to support your performance and career development. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for delivering to the product strategy and roadmap, a market leading customer value proposition, a safe and compliant product in line with the product design and distribution obligations.
You will continuously iterate and enhance the product features to create better outcomes and value for customers and stakeholders. You are a problem solver, you quickly pivot to changing work demands and possess the ability to accurately evaluate complex and ambiguous situations to reach timely, objective and informed decisions. You will influence others by communicating value with credibility and authority.
Key Responsibilities
Leverage insights and data to deliver recommendations for product, policy and process enhancements.
Lead product change initiatives to continuously improve the product offering and processes, enhancing customer outcomes and value, as well as reduce risk and improve productivity throughout the portfolio.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business and technical stakeholders across frontline, technology, risk and operations.
Identify risks, dependencies and issues for the squad and product, in line with excellent management of operational risk and compliance outcomes, uplifting and implementing controls (and supporting processes) where required.
Manage assigned Risk Issues/Incidents, conducting root cause analysis and ensuring that these are flagged for solution scoping within the relevant squads.
Prepare and present product governance and risk related papers and reports to various governance forums, senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
Stay abreast of external market trends and evolving customer expectations.
Lead and execute multiple prioritised initiatives to achieve business outcomes.
Apply business acumen, leadership, change management and project management experience to determine the optimal approach in project execution.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
Previous product management or business analyst experience within financial services, specifically in Home Lending and/or other Retail Lending.
Previous risk management experience – managing issues, incidents and customer remediations.
Previous experience in managing or supporting technical delivery, including business requirements gathering and writing preferred.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills including presentation skills, communication, negotiation and influencing capability at a senior leadership level with a proven record of managing the needs of varied business stakeholders.
The ability to take a customer centric approach to solving complex and ambiguous problems.
The ability to make quick decisions and remove blockers for the squad.
Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to deal with competing priorities and upcoming due dates.
Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment is preferred.
