Senior HR Partner

Background

Our client is a multi-venue hospitality and community organisation with operations across the ACT and NSW. They are seeking to engage a Senior HR Partner to drive the development of structured people systems, leadership capability, and long-term workforce planning. The role will also involve identifying and addressing gaps in onboarding, performance management, capability development, and workforce data governance.

Role

This hands-on leader will be responsible for delivering the Roles & Responsibilities (R&R) Project, leading execution across three core priority focus areas, and initiating a targeted cultural uplift project aligned to foundational reform. The Senior HR Partner will directly manage the HR Manager during the engagement and will be accountable for delivering outcomes across the broader HR transformation program. While the HR Manager will handle several key workstreams, the Senior HR Partner will provide direction, support, and integration across the following areas:

  • WHS and return-to-work processes.
  • Policy and procedure updates.
  • Performance framework rollout.
  • Employment Hero compliance and reporting.
  • Cadet program coordination.
  • Recognition, wellbeing, and culture activities.

Term

9-month fixed-term contract (no extensions) / Labour hire contract

Start Date

ASAP

Location

Flexible; onsite in Canberra at least once a month

Experience

  • Senior-level experience delivering HR transformation in operational environments.
  • Proven ability to lead internal staff, coach managers, and embed people systems.
  • Strong change leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a workforce at varying levels of change readiness, adapting approaches accordingly.
  • Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and practical levels.
