Since 2011, THE ICONIC has redefined the future of retail in Australia and New Zealand. As the #1 fashion e-commerce & lifestyle destination in the region, our e-commerce platforms provide an inspiring and seamless end-to-end customer experience through our own technology innovations.
As part of THE ICONIC's ongoing commitments, the Sustainability team exists to develop, maintain and drive programs and initiatives across three of our People + Planet Positive strategy pillars; Fair & Ethical Sourcing, Circularity and Climate Action. This includes focusing on critical topics including (but not limited to); ensuring worker welfare across our product supply chains' traceability; implementing levers to reduce carbon emissions; and introducing initiatives to support the transition towards a more circular fashion ecosystem.
We are currently on the lookout for a Sustainability Compliance & Reporting Coordinator to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a true passion for sustainability, and an ambition to make an impact in your role, and to raise social and environmental standards. You will gain industry experience working with THE ICONIC's sustainability team as well as directly with our wider cross-functional teams who are championing our sustainability agenda. It is an opportunity for a motivated and dynamic team player to contribute to an important phase of our sustainability journey.
About the role:
- Your key role will be assisting in the continued implementation of THE ICONIC's sustainability programs, and using data and reporting to drive engagement and progress towards our objectives.
- You will be working closely with our local Own brand team, GFG sourcing office, as well as the wider Commercial, Operations, Customer and Finance teams to support compliance with mandatory reporting requirements through administrative support of our factory audit and governance programs, and facilitating the broader sustainability reporting framework including emissions reporting.
- Using your excellent analytical capabilities and communication skills you will be synthesising complex data (both qualitative and quantitative) to a broad range of audiences, complemented by advanced Excel capabilities and experience working with SQL and data visualisation tools like Looker.
- You will also be supporting the delivery of other sustainability projects and the development of sustainability communications materials across the business as required.
- All while working collaboratively in a small but highly functioning team.
About you…
- You are proactive, not reactive: not merely identifying issues, but proposing solutions. You challenge results, identify opportunities for future improvement and suggest appropriate actions/mitigations, regularly thinking outside the box.
- Your time and project management skills are excellent, with proven ability to multitask and problem solve autonomously in a calm and professional manner, even when things don't go to plan.
- You have outstanding interpersonal skills, with an ability to win the trust and respect of stakeholders. You lead conversations: influencing, building relationships, and communication are skills you pride yourself on.
- You are also a fantastic communicator who is able to adjust seamlessly from a conversation with management, to your colleagues and to external partners. You back yourself and have the confidence and presentation skills to lead in any situation being both clear and concise.
- You have enthusiasm with a 'can-do' approach to tasks, briefs or problems, no matter how big or small. Your enthusiasm is contagious, not annoying.
- Your moral values are strong, and you are the type of person who cannot ignore when something feels wrong. You always do the right thing
- You ideally have 2-3 years experience in a similar role, and a related University degree or formal training is a bonus.
