YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more. The Y Queensland's childcare services has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.

We are currently recruiting for OSHC Educators on a casual basis to join our YMCA Pacific Pines Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service.

About The Service

YMCA Pacific Pines Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located on the Yugambeh land. We are part of a multi-cultural and linguistically diverse community at Pacific Pines Primary School. We are located in the school hall and we have a large area available both inside and outside. Our children are very active and love participating in sports activities. We are licensed for 105 children and offer Before and After School care as well as vacation care between 6:30am to 6pm. We offer menu full of options such as vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free which reflects on our children eating habits and needs. We strongly believe that children learn through play which can vary from spontaneous activities to planned learning opportunities that reflect the children's interest and their skills. Our service philosophy prioritises community and belonging, children's agency and the importance of spontaneous, multi-age play in middle childhood. We offer a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences for children and welcome educators with unique skill sets to share with children.

About The Role

As an OSHC Educator you are responsible for the care of children before school, after school and during school holiday periods. You'll assist in running fascinating, fun-filled and educational activities with primary school children, such as science experiments, outdoor games, painting and musical activities.

Our children and Educators bring our inclusive space to life, ensuring our program is engaging with a range of planned and spontaneous play experiences.

Am I a good match?

• You are currently studying or completed a Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor degree in the field of children's services or similar
• You have a fantastic sense of fun and a tremendous imagination
• You hold or be willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
• You hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one
