Overview

Public Sector People are working with a government organisation in southside Brisbane, seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor on an initial 6 month temp contract + extensions, with the opportunity to go direct to a permanent position with the company.

Location: South Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Salary: attractive pay rates of $60-70 per hour + Super.

Responsibilities
  • This is a role where you will demonstrate strategic, innovative and accountable leadership within the HS&W Operations Team and to a range of Branches, and the wider business, ensuring legislative compliance and HS&W objectives and targets are delivered.
  • You will provide high level technical advice and support to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Program and other stakeholders in relation to these matters.
  • Support the development and delivery of the HS&W Program vision and direction whilst effectively engaging with key stakeholders and internal client groups to ensure the HS&W Program responds to demands and identifies opportunities to improve the effectiveness of HS&W across Council.
  • You will provide outstanding leadership in identifying emerging H&S issues, embedding H&S risk management, systems and procedures and championing active engagement across Council with the Work Health, Safety & Wellbeing Management System (WHSWMS).
About You
  • Proven success in delivering training sessions on leadership development, with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to assess WHS effectiveness, monitor learning initiatives, and enhance program delivery.
  • Available for interview this week and start ASAP.
