Responsibilities

• Serves as a senior member or coordinator of a project/program support team.
• Responsible for business systems requirements assessment, evaluation, analysis, elicitation, interpretation, planning, design, development, documentation testing, validation, implementation, and maintenance of an assigned area/subsystem.
• Suggets business and system-wide process improvements that can fulfill the customer's business system requirements.
• Negotiates with customers on requirements that are not feasible or cost-effective and recommends alternate approaches.
• Assists in the evaluation, selection and integration of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or Government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions.
• Works with key project stakeholders and business people to formulate and communicate the business requirements for the project.
• Elicits and interprets requirements from customers and other DoD departments, military services, and Government agencies as needed.

Qualifications

To qualify for a IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), your resume and supporting documentation must support:

• Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Testing and validating that software modifications meet system specifications and fulfill the approved business system requirements
  • Conducts and assists in all test phases (assembly, component, system, regression, user acceptance testing)
  • Develops and coordinates detailed implementation timeline and cutover activities with stakeholders

Education: Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
