Project Coordinator

The Opportunity

Group A Streptococcus (Strep A) and rheumatic heart disease (RHD) research at The Kids is built around a focus on Indigenous leadership and collaboration, privileging the voices of those with lived experience of these diseases. We aim to understand the epidemiology of Strep A infections in Australia and the world, and explore the implementation of endgame recommendations, health economics and new horizons.

As our team continues to grow, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to support the delivery of high-quality research outcomes for our Stopping Acute Rheumatic Fever Infections to Strengthen Health (STARFISH) program of work.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist with all aspects of project planning, development, implementation, and establishment for a range of research initiatives.
• Provide high quality written documents including briefing notes, research reports and project management documentation.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures to guide projects within the team and ensure compliance with all institute policies and procedures where applicable.
• Assist with the development of budgets for the research program and project team.
• Contribute to translation activities of research into practice and policy.

Based in our offices within Perth Children's Hospital in Nedlands, this full-time role will initially be offered until 31st March 2028.

About You

The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in health and/or research relevant field(s) or equivalent expertise/experience in project coordination. You will also demonstrate:

• Experience in a fast-paced project management role, including administrative coordination and documentation management.
• High-level organisational skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
• Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise competing demands, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent people skills with the to build strong relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in budget preparation and financial management.
