About the Role:

In consultation with the Head of Program and consistent with approved curriculum documentation and Melbourne Polytechnic's policies, work to consolidate and develop the Associate Degree and Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) programs.
Teach into the Associate Degree and Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) programs offered by the department of Business and Construction (HE).

Duties:
  • Design, develop, implement and review teaching materials (including online materials); develop, prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops, assess student academic performance (including these activities in online mode) in accordance with Melbourne Polytechnic's policies and keep appropriate records.
  • Undertake subject delivery duties as required, liaise with technical staff and external stakeholders.
  • Consult with students on subject delivery and academic progress.
  • Develop effective links with professional groups, initiate and develop professional and community activities and participate in professional activities including consultancy where appropriate.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant Civil Engineering discipline.
  • Experience of teaching and developing course materials, especially as related to online, flexible, blended and hybrid learning environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate programs, develop subject materials and design and deliver curriculum and assessment materials for higher education programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lecture, tutor, and supervise projects in a range of subjects relevant to the degree program such as in the area of civil engineering design, structural engineering, engineering surveying, construction management, computer aided engineering and engineering mathematics.
  • A developing record of research and publications such as major research monographs, and or edited books, articles in refereed journals, research reports or equivalent project-based research in the field of Civil Engineering.
  • Significant relevant professional and industry experience in an area related to the Civil Engineering discipline.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to liaise well with colleagues within the Institute and external stakeholders.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee) – mandatory.
  • Successful incumbent must be able to attain a Valid National Police Check.
