Position - Catering Assistant

Location: Albury

Permanent Part-time Position

Shift times: AM - 6:30-14:30 or 07:00-15:00; PM - 16:00-20:00

Pay Rate: $25 - $28 Per Hour

About the role As a Catering Assistant, you will make a difference every day by providing healthy, hearty, and delicious meals prepared by our Chef. Reporting to the Home Manager, you will support the Chef and team to deliver high-quality catering services to our residents. This is a permanent position with shifts scheduled across a fortnightly roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook.
  • Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs, including special dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences, as instructed by the Chef or Cook.
  • Work with the Care team to plate and deliver meals, ensuring familiarity with menus and residents' needs and preferences.
  • Complete cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule, filling in sign-off sheets as required.
  • Document residents' requirements and any exceptional changes occurring during the shift.

About you

  • Experience in food preparation and food safety.
  • Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE001 - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices) - Desirable.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control.
  • Ability to operate standard domestic and industrial equipment.
  • Availability to work AM and PM shifts.
