Overview

Ballina Shire Council is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join the Public and Environmental Health team. In this role, you will provide expert support and guidance in the delivery of environmental health services, including auditing on-site sewage management systems, assessing performance, and identifying potential risks to public health and the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert support and guidance in the delivery of a wide range of environmental health services.
  • Conduct audits of on-site sewage management systems, assess their performance, and identify potential risks to public health and the environment.
  • Support protecting community wellbeing through compliance and reporting activities.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in an environmental health / science related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in an environmental health related role with working knowledge of modern systems of on-site sewage management.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing good rapport with various community sectors and dealing with a broad range of customers and community representatives in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prepare environmental health reports and submissions.
The rewards
  • An annual salary range of $84,300 to $107,300 (plus 12% superannuation) dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications.
