JOB SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for inspecting mechanical components and assemblies to ensure they meet specified standards and quality requirements. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a strong understanding of mechanical principles.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies using precision measuring instruments.
  • Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of findings.
  • Identify and report any non-conformance issues to the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for defects or failures in mechanical components.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols during inspection activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and techniques.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical inspection or quality control within a manufacturing environment is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during inspection activities.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are essential.
