The CompanyCivmec is actively seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic payroll team as a Payroll Supervisor. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Payroll Manager and lead a team to handle crucial tasks involved in processing our weekly and monthly payrolls. This position offers a unique opportunity for career progression, as you will be at the forefront of our payroll operations, working closely with our experienced Payroll Manager to drive success and innovation. We welcome applications from experienced professionals in payroll who have previous experience in a leadership position. This role is designed to be a stepping stone, providing you with the chance to develop your skills further and prepare for future leadership opportunities within our organisation.

- Payroll Operations– Ensure high quality payroll processing, issue resolution and business continuity, acting as the point of escalation for any payroll queries.
- Talent Development and Engagement– You'll lead a team of 5 payroll professionals, actively building their careers and development plans, while fostering a positive and continuous improvement-centred team culture.
- Strategic Direction– Providing strong leadership, change management and best practice (including systems and technology), cross-functional direction, and collaboration for the purposes of business improvement.
- Vendor Management - Ownership of the relationship with the payroll software provider and responsible for ensuring the system is stable, fit for purpose, up-to-date and able to meet business requirements.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Formal qualifications in Payroll and/or Human Resources or equivalent experience in Payroll or Human Resources.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of Australian payroll calculations and processing, regulations, compliance, and best practice.
- Experience managing a payroll team in a complex and high-volume business and payroll function including weekly and monthly payroll.
- More than 10 years' experience within the Resources sector.
- Strong communication and change management skills - ability to work with and engage key internal and external stakeholders, engage and coach team members, and manage processes and change.
