Key responsibilities
- Setting up and operating CNC machining centres
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and 3D models
- Machining complex and close-tolerance tooling components
- Selecting and setting cutting tools, workholding and machining parameters
- Carrying out tool offsets and machine adjustments
- Inspecting finished components to ensure they meet drawing specifications
- Performing in-process measurements and quality checks
- Working with CAM programs and CNC programs
- Identifying and resolving machining and tooling issues
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
About you
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist
- Experience with CNC machining centres
- Strong understanding of machining processes and cutting tools
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T
- Experience machining steel and other tooling materials
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills
- A reliable and professional approach to work
- Experience in die-casting tooling, mould making, toolmaking or precision engineering will be highly regarded
