Elevate-X is proud to be leading the executive search for a pioneering renewable energy operator revolutionising Biogas delivery across the region. Originally established as an EPC specialist, our client now operates under a "Build, Own, Operate" model, focused on long-term asset ownership and large-scale decarbonisation.

Backed by strategic investment, technical depth, and a strong delivery record, this organisation is developing next-generation anaerobic digestion and waste-to-energy projects that transform infrastructure into impact.

We're seeking a Process Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting a growing portfolio across FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operational optimisation.

This newly created position will work closely with the Perth-based engineering team and leverage international design capabilities to deliver integrated, efficient, and sustainable solutions.

Position Overview

Process Engineers are at the forefront of technological advancement, driving innovation through the creation and refinement of systems that are safe, efficient, and performance driven.

This role blends creative problem-solving with deep technical expertise, empowering individuals to tackle complex engineering challenges and deliver designs that shape industries.

Embedded within a multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate across functions to transform ideas into high-impact, real-world solutions. The role reports directly to the Engineering Manager who oversees all engineering activities—offering strategic visibility, executive alignment, and substantial autonomy.

You'll have full ownership of design outcomes and a rare opportunity to redefine internal engineering processes, procedures, and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Process Design & Development – Define and optimise process flows for anaerobic digestion, gas upgrading, and energy recovery systems.Technology Selection & Integration – Evaluate and specify equipment for pre-treatment, digestion, and purification stages.Mass & Energy Balancing – Develop detailed mass and energy balances to support design and performance modelling.Commissioning & Start-Up Support – Lead process validation, troubleshooting, and ramp-up activities during plant commissioning.Operational Support – Monitor plant performance, analyse data, and implement process improvements to maximise efficiency.Documentation & Compliance – Prepare process documentation, control narratives, and ensure alignment with safety and environmental standards.Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing – Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Experience & Qualifications

5+ years of experience in process engineering within biogas, anaerobic digestion, or renewable energy sectors.Proven track record in designing and optimising biogas systems, including feedstock analysis, digestion kinetics, and gas upgrading.Hands-on experience with commissioning and operational troubleshooting of biogas plants.Familiarity with process modelling tools, instrumentation, and control systems.Tertiary qualifications in Chemical EngineeringFlexibility to travel to projects within Australia
