The Islamic College of Sport is seeking a motivated and dedicated Teacher to join our team at the Hoppers Crossing Campus. This role is responsible for the facilitation, training, and assessment of students enrolled in our Sports Development Programs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and sport, with a strong commitment to student engagement and achievement.

At the Islamic College of Sport, we recognise that the relationship between teacher and student is integral to student success. Teachers act as mentors, developing a deep understanding of each student's academic and personal needs. This connection enables the consistent implementation of tailored teaching and learning strategies that enhance student outcomes.

As a Teacher, you are not only an educator but also a leader in your classroom. You will set and uphold clear standards, shape a positive class culture, and serve as a key influencer of student growth and achievement. You will be expected to take ownership of your teaching environment with the mindset of a small business owner, focused on outcomes, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching, Learning & Assessment

  • Develop and deliver curriculum through an applied learning approach

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and maintain accurate records

  • Complete assessment and reporting requirements in line with school and regulatory standards

Program Development

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences

  • Align program delivery with ICS's mission, vision, Statement of Faith, and educational standards

  • Seek community and industry feedback to continually improve learning experiences

Student Experience

  • Support a holistic student journey through participation in camps, excursions, and community projects

Professional Standards & Collaboration

  • Maintain compliance with school and external regulatory policies

  • Build positive relationships with colleagues and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team

  • Share best practice and actively engage in professional learning

Student Relationships

  • Build professional, supportive relationships with students

  • Understand individual learning needs and manage student behaviour with a student-first approach

Parent, Community & Industry Engagement

  • Foster strong relationships with parents/carers and involve them in the learning journey

  • Develop meaningful connections with local community members and sports industry partners

General Duties

  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities

  • Comply with school policies and procedures

  • Maintain safe practices for yourself and others

  • Perform other reasonable duties as directed
