Overview

We are seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in disabilities and rehabilitation to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to integrated care plans that deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care responsive to the needs of young patients.


This is a fixed term part-time appointment at 38 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE) with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop tailored intervention programs.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support children and families through rehabilitation, addressing disability, trauma, and quality of life challenges.
  • Engage in service development, program planning, and creation of innovative treatment modules for patients with complex neurodisabilities and rehabilitation needs.
  • Provide mentorship, supervision, and training to junior staff and contribute to professional development within the department and broader clinical community.
  • Actively participate in research and development activities to enhance service delivery and advance rehabilitation psychology.
  • Provide education within the team and to other Clinical Psychologists and departments.
  • Engage with universities about rehabilitation specialisations and explore national collaboration opportunities such as benchmarking and teaching.
  • Develop intervention and group programs within the Kids Rehab psychology team.


Qualifications and Experience
  • Master or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and eligibility for full registration and endorsement in Clinical Psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia, and accreditation as a Board-approved supervisor.
  • Eligibility for endorsement and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia; Board approved supervisor status.
  • Experience in rehabilitation and disability psychology with ability to lead and develop clinical programs and initiatives.
  • Prior health sector experience is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant experience in working with children and families is highly regarded; applicants with relevant experience in adult care will be supported to translate knowledge to paediatric settings.

Kids Rehab WA is an integrated, state-wide service specialising in rehabilitation for infants, children, and adolescents with acquired or congenital neurodevelopmental disorders or neurological injuries. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on helping individuals adjust to disabilities and trauma, improve functional outcomes, and participate in daily activities and education. We work with families to navigate developmental stages and changing needs, with a focus on quality of life. Our clinical research space collaborates with the Telethon Kids Institute, universities, and other hospitals to drive an ambitious research agenda.
