This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new 12-bedded CAMHS service in Surrey as a Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist. You will be part of a partnership between Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust (SABP) and Elysium Healthcare, contributing to the lives of young people aged 13-18 with general mental health Tier 4 presentations, including disordered eating.
Main duties of the jobAs a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will deliver evidence-based treatment plans to support children, young people, and their families as they progress through their care plans to understand eating behaviors and restore physical health. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored treatment programs supporting individual needs within a warm, nurturing environment.

If you're looking to advance your career and be part of an innovative partnership between Surrey and Borders NHS Trust (SABP) and Elysium Healthcare, while making a vital contribution to young people with Tier 4 mental health issues, including disordered eating, this role is for you.
As a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist employed by Elysium Healthcare and seconded to SABP under a hybrid model, you will develop evidence-based treatment plans to support young people and their families, helping them understand eating behaviors and physical health restoration.
You will work with an experienced multidisciplinary team to create personalized treatment programs, understanding the symptoms, patterns, and origins of psychological distress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Review referrals and assess suitability for admission
- Conduct admission assessments and manage treatment plans
- Perform risk assessments and review regularly
- Allocate psychological treatments based on individual needs
- Assess physical health
- Coordinate with referring teams
- Act as Responsible Clinician for detained young people under the Mental Health Act
- Participate in quality assurance, inspections, and governance processes
You will also participate in the On Call Consultant rota.
Requirements for success
- Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a license to practice
- Experience in CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders is desirable

Person SpecificationQualifications- Registered on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a license to practice. Experience in CAMHS Forensic and/or Eating Disorders is desirable.
