About The Opportunity

Join Liverpool Hospital Pharmacy Team as an ICU Specialist Pharmacist and become a vital part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team delivering expert care to critically ill patients. This is a unique opportunity to work in one of NSW's most diverse and dynamic ICUs, where your advanced clinical skills will directly influence patient outcomes. You'll lead medication management, contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives, and support the development of junior staff, all within a supportive and progressive environment that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

What You'll Be Doing

The provision of specialist clinical Pharmacy services to the nominated clinical specialty area. Dispensary duties as required. Promotion of both safety and quality as key aspects of drug therapy. Participation in quality improvement and professional development, as well as contribution to education and supervision of other staff and students.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital is a major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local area and district services to residents and visitors. It offers a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. The hospital hosts comprehensive facilities across multiple theatres and clinical services within a large health district.

Liverpool Hospital is undergoing the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) redevelopment project to enhance facilities and capacity for future population growth. The hospital is a principal referral and teaching hospital for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Full Pharmacist registration with AHPRA with no restrictions to the scope of practice. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a registered pharmacist in hospital pharmacy and EITHER: a minimum of 12 months experience as a clinical pharmacist in the nominated specialty area (or a similar specialty area) OR relevant postgraduate qualifications with a minimum of 6 months experience in the nominated specialty area (or a similar specialty area).
  • Experience providing clinical pharmacy services in an intensive care or other high-acuity setting and a track record of contributing to improved patient outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in critical care and the ability to influence patient care.
  • Strategies for safe and effective medication management in ICU/high-acuity settings, including complex or rapidly changing clinical situations.
  • Experience in quality improvement, research, or antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, with a clear role and impact described.
