About the Role

You will be responsible for leading and executing SUBCO's sourcing strategy, with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers to ensure SUBCO are optimising costs whilst achieving business KPIs . The role will liaise closely with both internal and external stakeholders across Engineering, Project Delivery, and Operations to the sourcing strategy is aligned with the strategic goals of the business.

This role can be located in either Brisbane or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and execute SUBCO's category specific sourcing strategy, aligning with key business objectives
• Negotiating contracts with new and existing suppliers to secure favourable commercial and operational terms
• Gather and apply market intelligence to ensure SUBCO are making commercially sound, strategically aligned and informed purchasing decisions
• Execute quarterly business reviews with SUBCO suppliers
• Build and maintain reporting capabilities to provide SUBCO's executive with metrics on performance, potential risks and upcoming spend against budget
• Manage procurement risks by proactively identifying potential issues and developing mitigation strategies
• Contribute to commercial and overall corporate strategy by providing insights on suppliers pricing, market intelligence and supplier capability
• Continuously improve and redefine SUBCO's sourcing strategy to be in front of market trends
• Provide continuous feedback to suppliers and holding them to account in all aspects of the sourcing lifecycle

About You

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and develop practical, effective solutions.
• Advanced negotiation capabilities, with a proven track record of securing favourable commercial outcomes across complex contracts.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to think critically and analyse suppliers and information objectively, ensuring evidence and data driven decisions are being considered when navigating complex negotiations.
• Advance technical knowledge of the Telecommunications industry would be ideal
• The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and drive tasks to completion without close supervision
• Strong presentation skills, with the confidence to present recommendations clearly to stakeholders of all levels
• Ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
• Be involved in infrastructure projects that will prove critical to Australia's digital future
