Are you ready to shape the future of school infrastructure across Queensland?

The School Network Planning team within the Services Planning unit, Infrastructure Services Division (ISD), is seeking a permanent Planning Officer to join our high-performing team.

We work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to identify and deliver infrastructure solutions for existing schools and plan for new schools to meet the needs of growing communities. Based on detailed analysis of population and enrolment trends, our team establishes the need for new classrooms, school expansions, and entirely new school facilities over short, medium, and long-term timeframes.

The Opportunity

As a member of the Services Planning team, you will:

• Support the prioritisation of infrastructure projects to support population growth including the expansion of existing schools and new schools.
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and briefings for senior internal and external stakeholders and governance bodies.
• Undertake detailed analysis of school and population growth trends and communicate outcomes from this analysis.
• Contribute to the development of business cases to support major infrastructure investments over the short, medium and long term.
  
  

Achieving Success

To be successful as a Planning Officer, you will possess:

• An understanding of demographic and infrastructure planning concepts and the ability to apply this knowledge to support team objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a high performing team and establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate information to a range of different stakeholders including the use of data to support recommendations as required.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and objectives within tight timeframes.
