LMI Group is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join our team and lead the integration of advanced AI capabilities into our systems. This role combines software engineering expertise with applied AI/LLM experience. You will collaborate with software developers and business stakeholders to design and implement intelligent solutions leveraging modern machine learning tools and large language models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI-powered features using OpenAI and other LLMs to enhance workflows.
  • Develop and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for accurate responses.
  • Integrate vector databases and search tools for efficient document retrieval.
  • Collaborate with teams working in Azure Cloud, .NET, and SQL Server to embed AI solutions.
  • Fine-tune and evaluate models based on business needs and feedback.
  • Document and maintain reusable AI components.
  • Monitor and optimize AI system performance for scalability, robustness, and compliance.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify AI-driven efficiency improvements.
  • Stay updated on AI and LLM advancements and recommend new tools or improvements.
  • Guide teams in AI adoption initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong development experience with Microsoft technologies such as .NET and Azure DevOps.
  • Proven experience with Azure and AI technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Hugging Face, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in building RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and vector search (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, Azure Cognitive Search).
  • Experience with model fine-tuning, embeddings, and inference optimization.
  • Understanding of data processing, API development, and system integration.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers, data engineers, and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MLOps or AI model deployment in production.
  • Familiarity with tools like LangChain, LLamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
  • Knowledge of data governance and responsible AI practices.
