Locum Specialist in Hyperbaric Medicine (Fractional)

Alfred Health is a leader in healthcare delivery, research, and education, serving the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne. We offer advanced hyperbaric facilities and provide state-wide hyperbaric medicine services. Our Hyperbaric Service, part of the Department of Intensive Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, cares for a diverse patient population, including both emergency and non-emergency cases.

We are seeking a qualified medical practitioner with training and experience in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine to join our Senior Medical Staff team. This is a temporary position for 16 hours per fortnight from 1 August 2025 to 1 February 2026, with some flexibility in the roster, including after-hours and weekend call.

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Fellowship of a relevant college
  • Advanced qualification in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or equivalent
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in Hyperbaric Medicine
  • Credentialing approval from Alfred Health
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all levels
  • Flexibility in problem-solving and relationship building
