Overview

Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a Chaplain for our Middle School - Wadhurst, to commence in 2026. The Chaplain will be primarily responsible for the spiritual direction and life of Wadhurst, and for the overall pastoral and spiritual care of the campus community. The Wadhurst Chaplain will be expected to teach up to a 0.6 FTE load. This position is permanent full-time, based at our South Yarra Campus.

Wadhurst is Melbourne Grammar School\'s purpose-built middle school learning community for boys in Years 7 and 8. Wadhurst specialises in educating 12 to 14 year olds by addressing the transition from childhood to adolescence. Wadhurst is located at our South Yarra campus and is attended by approximately 400 day boys and boarders.

You will
  • Coordinate and lead key Chapel events including the Wadhurst Chapel programme, annual Sunday House Chapel services, and the Wadhurst Carol Service
  • Deliver spiritual content and pastoral care through weekly Bible readings, messages, prayers, and support for students, staff, and families in collaboration with the House system and Counselling team
  • Be an ordained Anglican Priest, with experience working in schools and teaching Religious Education and Philosophy
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership, including advanced spiritual and pastoral care leadership
  • University degree with at least a major in Theology and Religious Studies, and appropriate teacher training

VIT registration, or the ability to gain this, is essential for this position.
