Overview

Join the Driver Academy - Waste Industry role at Cleanaway Waste Management. Cleanaway is Australia's largest waste management organisation with over 8,000 employees across 400+ sites. This program is designed to prepare you to be a HR-licensed truck driver, operating a range of waste collection vehicles in the Adelaide region, including the Wingfield depot. Start date: late October/early November. Shifts commence from 6:00 am, Monday to Friday. No heavy vehicle driving experience required.

Responsibilities
  • Operate collection vehicles to collect waste from commercial locations in the Adelaide region (Wingfield depot included).
  • Perform loading and unloading duties of waste products.
  • Deliver loads to nominated disposal facilities.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Maintain the presentation of the vehicle inside and out.
  • Be comfortable with a high level of manual handling and heights.
The Role

We\'re searching for dedicated individuals to join our team at our Wingfield depot. As a multi-systems operator with Cleanaway, you\'ll play a crucial role in operating a variety of waste collection vehicles throughout the Adelaide region. You will be required to operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with company regulations, complete all paperwork and records accurately.

Cleanaway is seeking multiple individuals to participate in an intensive training program which includes licensing and other training required to set you up to be a HR-licensed truck driver, followed by ongoing learning for the next 12 months.

Paid training program will include
  • Obtain Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR)
  • Dangerous goods licence & EPA certification (where required)
  • Uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • Training program to become a driver
To be part of the program
  • Hold a current unrestricted driver's licence for a minimum of 24 months
  • Driving History Check with a minimum of 8 demerit points remaining
  • No heavy vehicle driving experience required
