Overview

As a critical and trusted member of the Systems Engineering team, you\'ll be working side-by-side with software engineers to design and deliver mission critical services and systems. You\'ll work with infrastructure and services at scale, utilizing a wide variety of technologies to support our high-traffic Freelancer.com marketplace and other business products. The role is fully deployed in Amazon Web Services cloud and powered by Nginx, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Consul, Docker, and Kubernetes. The mission is to build highly resilient, dynamically scaling, self-healing systems by automating and monitoring everything using Terraform, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and Jenkins.

Salary

Base pay range: A$150,000.00/yr - A$170,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with software engineers to design and deliver mission critical services and systems.
  • Work with infrastructure at scale and support high-traffic, real-time platforms.
  • Contribute to systems that are resilient, scalable, and self-healing through automation and monitoring.
  • Utilize technologies including AWS, Nginx, MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Consul, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and Jenkins.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, networking and systems architecture.
  • Strong experience with Linux and managing database, web, and file servers at scale in production.
  • Experience with cloud, virtualization, and/or container services (AWS, GCP, Azure, VMware, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, AWS ECS).
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure orchestration tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Programming experience with Python, Go, PHP, Ruby, or Node.js.
  • Experience with incident response and a security-focused mindset.
  • University degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related field) is preferred.
