As our Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in Civica's SaaS transformation, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our cloud platform supporting education, health & care, and government products. You will collaborate with engineers, developers, and product teams to implement roadmaps, drive automation, and adopt best practices.

• Designing and implementing for scale & resilience: Architect, implement, and improve our Data Center and Cloud environments on AWS, Azure, and VMware, ensuring they meet SLAs and adapt dynamically to demand, working with Platform teams providing PaaS / IaaS.
• Driving automation: Develop infrastructure as code (Terraform, etc.) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, etc.) to deploy features safely and rapidly.
• Defining and measuring reliability: Partner with teams to establish SLIs / SLOs, implement real-time observability (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana), and proactively identify risks.
• Leading incident response: Manage the on-call rota, guide teams through blameless post-mortems, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Mentoring & evangelism: Share expertise through pairing, brown-bag sessions, and raising reliability standards across the global engineering team.
• Securing our stack: Collaborate with Security to integrate controls into CI/CD, runtime environments, and disaster recovery plans to ensure customer and citizen protection.

What you will do to be successful in this role

• Experience in a production SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure role, ideally within SaaS or large-scale web environments.
• Expertise in at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with hybrid migrations from on-premises to cloud.
• Proven experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, OpenShift).
• Experience with VM orchestration and resiliency strategies (Kubevirt, Packer, Ansible).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash) and a passion for building reusable, tested libraries and tools.
• Deep understanding of monitoring, logging, and tracing frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger).
• Excellent communication skills, with a passion for translating complex technical issues into clear, actionable plans.
