As we continue to grow and evolve our portfolio of boutique luxury hotels, retreats, and branded experiences, we are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute executive to lead our operational strategy and execution.

The Role

The COO will be a key member of the Executive Committee, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and will be responsible for overseeing the performance and operational excellence of all hotels and retreats, restaurants and spas within the SBH portfolio. This includes ensuring alignment with our luxury brand standards, a curious and caring nature, and exceptional guest service.

In a business wherefood and beverage will contribute to the majority of our revenue, this role demands a leader withdeep expertise in all aspects of F&B operations. From concept development and culinary innovation to operational execution and profitability, the successful candidate will bring a proven track record of driving performance across a multi-property hospitality portfolio. You will be instrumental in translating SBH's strategic vision into operational reality - building and implementing scalable systems, fostering a culture of accountability, and inspiring high-performing teams to deliver exceptional experiences.

A hands-on, results-driven role that requires agility, leadership maturity, and a passion for people. This will be a Brisbane based role that will require the ability to travel as and when needed.

The role and key responsibilities;

Develop and execute forward-thinking operational strategies aligned with SBH's ambitious growth plans that are scalable and support our vision and values;

Lead expansion initiatives, including pre-opening operations and seamless integration of new hotels, retreats, restaurants, and spas;

Ensure short-term operational plans are aligned with SBH long-term business objectives, maintaining agility and focus;

Analyse financial data to make informed strategic decisions and improve operational efficiency;

Champion the consistent delivery of luxury service standards across all guest touchpoints;

Monitor guest feedback and Net Promoter Scores (NPS), driving continuous service enhancements;

Uphold SBH's brand identity and ensure its consistent application across the portfolio;

Collaborate with our Director of Restaurants & Bar Performance, Director of Beverage, Executive Chefs, and hotel leaders to elevate culinary and beverage programs;

Build and mentor high-performing teams across the SBH portfolio;

Establish clear accountability frameworks for RGM's, hotel leaders, and F&B leadership teams;

Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Promote diversity, inclusion, and well-being initiatives throughout the organisation.

Lead with integrity, embedding SBH's values into every aspect of the business.

Represent SBH at industry events and public engagements.

Essential criteria required to be considered;

Bachelor's degree or master's degree in hospitality or relevant discipline;

Postgraduate Degree / MBA / Professional Diploma from internationally recognized institutions would be an advantage;

Proven leadership in luxury hospitality – Minimum of 10+ years in senior hospitality leadership, preferably in luxury boutique hotels.

Multi-unit management experience with deep expertise in food and beverage operations.

Strategic thinker with strong operational execution skills.

Inspirational leader with a track record of building high-performing teams.

Passion for innovation, guest experience, and brand integrity

Proven financial and strategic acumen.
