Overview

We have a great ongoing opportunity for a Cook to be responsible for ensuring that the production and distribution of food service is maintained to appropriate standards in an efficient and effective manner for Wallaroo Hospital and Health Services.

Location

Wallaroo, Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, Wallaroo. Permanent Part time position FTE. Part time, with salary details below.

Salary and Benefits

• WHA4 $1,128.60 to $1,140.30 per week (Pro-rata) + Superannuation + leave loading and Salary Sacrifice Benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the production and distribution of food service to Wallaroo Hospital and Health Services, maintaining appropriate standards in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Order non-impress food supplies, plate meals, select menus, and ensure quality control of food production to an acceptable standard.
  • Report to the Services Supervisor on a day-to-day basis and be ultimately responsible to the Facility Manager.

We are seeking a candidate who:

  • has sound interpersonal and communication skills;
  • can relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances;
  • forms healthy working relationships with all levels of staff and provides assistance and cooperation when needed;
  • has good time management skills;
  • understands and uses discretion and maintains strict confidentiality;
  • has experience in preparing and cooking bulk meals and meeting dietary requirements; and
  • understands the importance of safe working conditions, food storage and correct food handling techniques.

Previous experience in balancing menus is desirable.
