About the Company

DA Hall Group is a privately-owned agribusiness that operates one of the largest poultry farms in Australia. We employ over 350 people across our farming operations based at Millmerran, Queensland. Our operations cover the entire supply chain from chick rearing to egg production. Our layer systems include Cage, Cage-free, Free Range and Organic. We have in-house service teams for vaccination, relocation, veterinary and nutrition services. About the Role

You will work quickly, efficiently and cohesively within a team to ensure optimal bird welfare during catching and placing. Availability for very early morning starts or late evening/night starts is required. The roster is irregular, with hours between 60 and 80 per fortnight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently load or unload birds in accordance with established work practices.
  • Work closely within a variety of intensive livestock systems.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
  • Other tasks as directed, including shed cleaning or gardening duties.
About You

You will:

  • Be very physically fit, able to perform heavy lifting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, and pushing trolleys.
  • Be able to work with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced, time-pressured environment, performing repetitive tasks with care.
  • Have your own transport and be able to attend various farm sites within a 20 km radius of Millmerran.
  • Have a "can do" attitude and be cooperative to meet daily requirements.
  • Be accountable for the work completed and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Have attention to detail to complete both husbandry and quality assurance tasks.

  • A passion for Agriculture and genuine interest in rural work.
  • Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A genuine care for animal welfare. No previous bird handling experience required, but ability to work with live birds is necessary.
  • Adherence to bio-security protocols (showering, changing clothes/footwear before entering sites; no jewellery except medical ID).
  • Ability to work in dirty or dusty environments, or outdoors in all weather.
Additional Information

Candidates must adhere to strict bio-security requirements, including not keeping live birds, chickens or pigs at home, and signing a bio-security agreement to avoid contact with avian species.
