Process Mineralogist

Our world-class team of Geoscientists is expanding, and we require new team members to join us in Perth WA at the Automated Mineralogy Incubator as soon as possible.

As a Process Mineralogist/Geometallurgist at the Automated Mineralogy Incubator, you will draw on your knowledge of mineral chemistry to interpret spectral data for geology and process metallurgical applications. You will be required to write high-quality technical reports and conduct client presentations. There is also the opportunity to present at conferences and write papers for publication.

You will be working with both new and traditional techniques:

1. Tescan TIMA SEM for automated mineralogy
2. XRD ELEMISSION LIBS high-speed core scanning
3. Acquiring, processing, and interpreting multisource spectral data
4. Client liaison to define and understand the scope of work
5. Writing high-quality technical reports
6. Client presentations
7. Training industrial and research customers

Attributes:

• Competent to Expert level in using a SEM based automated mineralogy analyser in process metallurgy.
• Practical experience with sample preparation, results analysis, and report writing.
• Minimum 2 years working at a mine site with geometallurgical process control or in a commercial metallurgical testing operation.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing mineral libraries.
• Competency in spoken and written English.
• Tertiary qualifications in Geology, Metallurgy, or Mineralogy.
• Ability to work as part of a team in addition to working independently.
• Able to achieve deadlines.
• Correlative approach within methods.
• Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Australian citizen/permanent resident or hold a visa with full work rights.
