Job Description

Sedgman has an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer with detailed design experience to join our Engineering Team in Perth to support studies, tenders, and projects across the globe and across multiple commodities such as copper, iron-ore, gold, and rare earth minerals. This role will be a contract for a set period of time.

The Role Will Require But Not Limited To
  • Working as part of an experienced and established electrical team to leverage previous project designs, whilst still being adaptable and able to provide innovative designs and thinking when required
  • Work across a continuous succession of small and large, domestic and international projects as they progress through the project lifecycle from early concept development, detailed design, construction and operations
  • Preparing conceptual and detailed electrical designs of various types of ore crushing and conveying facilities and associated services
  • Defining and recommending design methods, specifications, and performance of functional requirements for new projects
  • Undertaking or supervising the preparation of feasibility studies, surveys and reports, design layouts, bill of quantities and cost estimates. Generating equipment specifications and supporting equipment evaluation and procurement activities during project execution.
  • Managing electrical discipline budget and schedule during the execution of projects in all phases of maturity
  • Carrying out site inspections and liaising with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers. Providing engineering support during installation, construction and commissioning, with occasional deployment as a commissioning resource.
  • Liaising with internal and external clients, other discipline professionals, and stakeholders to ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective delivery of projects
What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)
  • At least 7+ years' experience, preferably in project design, commissioning, and onsite environments
  • Experience with electrical layouts, designs, safety standards, and low to medium voltage functions
  • Site-based practical experience with commissioning, operations, and problem-solving is highly regarded but not essential
  • Electrical experience with multiple commodity types is highly regarded
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide advanced technical solutions and problem-solving
  • RPEng, CPEng, or Chartered Status is highly regarded but not essential
